About Us

With over 50 years of early education, Merry Deb is a center-based preschool providing quality child care.

We offer fall and summer programs that provide families with flexible, high quality alternative, child care options. Our facility has 5 large classrooms and an outdoor playground.

Our team embraces diversity in all of our classrooms and strives to create an inclusive environment that encourages children of all abilities and backgrounds. We are committed to providing children with a safe classroom environment that fosters academic and social emotional development.

Social & Emotional

We aim to bridge the gap between home and the classroom by encouraging children to develop self awareness, self management, social awareness, and relationship skills. We foster each child’s ability to express, recognize, and manage his/her emotions. We also help the child to build and sustain meaningful relationships with adults and other children.

Cognitive Thinking

Our teachers actively engage in quality interactions by providing children with choices and prompting them to make thoughtful decisions. We guide children to develop the knowledge and problem solving skills needed to help them think about and understand the world around them. We foster the skills that are needed to think, read, learn, remember, imagine, and pay attention.

Language & Communication

We provide experiences and interactions that support children’s language and communication through instruction and intentional planning and thinking. Our teachers provide children with the opportunity to make choices and support them to become effective and confident communicators.

Physical Development

We promote physical development by practicing gross and fine motor skills with the children indoors and outdoors. We incorporate various activities to develop body awareness, physical strength, hand-eye coordination and multi-sensory skills. Some of the many activities include playing with sensory bins and building blocks.

Academic Programs

Merry Deb implements a teacher-facilitated approach where teachers pay close attention to each child’s interests, abilities, and learning styles and incorporate them into classroom planning. The children have opportunities to explore a variety of activities and play materials to promote their motor, cognitive, social emotional, academic, and communication development.

We make every effort to ensure that each child transitions comfortably to their new classroom. Children are placed in classes according to their age upon enrollment. All classes are led by certified teachers and teacher’s assistants with group ratios of 1:10.
